The Houma-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce has been recognized as Louisiana’s Large Chamber of the Year by the Louisiana Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.
The Chamber of the Year award recognizes those Chambers of Commerce which have distinguished themselves and their communities through excellence in organizational programming and service. "We are honored and pleased to receive this recognition. The Chamber’s staff and Board are constantly working toward excellence in order to provide quality benefits to our members and our community,” said Chamber President & CEO Drake Pothier. The Chamber of the Year announcement comes less than two months after the Houma-Terrebonne Chamber was awarded 5-Star Accreditation by the United States Chamber of Commerce.
The Chamber of the Year award evaluates the organization’s achievements in community, organizational and professional development over the past 12 to 18 months. Among other things, the Houma-Terrebonne Chamber launched two new events in the Chamber Golf Classic and Business2Business Luncheon, assisted the Terrebonne Economic Development Authority in completing the Readiness Communities pilot project and has been a leading statewide advocate for the repeal of the deepwater drilling moratorium. |
